The Archeological Museum of Volos was erected in 1909. The building is neo-classical and was expanded in 2004. Both the rich and varied exhibits and their exhibition in the hall of neolithic objects and the hall of tomb replicas are of particular interest. The most important items of the collection of the Museum come from the prehistoric settlements Sesklo and Dimini and compose a complete picture of the Neolithic era in Thessaly and generally in Greece.
In the museum we can admire: a collection of Palaeolithic items from all over Thessaly, exhibits from the Neolithic era and a collection of gold coins and headstones from Demetrias.
